Submit Your Legend
Do you know a Kansas legend who you feel should be featured at Legends Outlets? We want to know! In 2007 Legends Outlets conducted a school-age essay contest and added three new legends nominated by Kansas middle school students: Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz; Edward Dwight, Jr., the first African-American trained as an astronaut turned celebrated sculptor; and Spc. Lucas A. Frantz, a local hero and fallen soldier in the Iraq war. In fact, Frantz’ story inspired Legends Outlets to honor and celebrate the lives of all the fallen soldiers in the Iraq war.
