Applebees debuts new look

On Friday, May 3, Applebee’s Speedway location reopened with a fresh new look and feel centered around the neighborhood and contemporary dining experiences. The renovated Applbee’s location includes new design features and a custom mural focused on the Kansas City, Kansas neighborhood.

This remodel is Applebee’s first big step in rekindling the local feel of the Applebee’s brand, kicking off in the city that the first Applebee’s franchise was born. Much of the wall décor focuses on the local area, including a large hand-painted mural representing the Kansas City, Kansas community. Applebee’s is teaming up with the local arts organization InterUrban ArtHouse to bring the mural to life, featuring talented local artists. The mural is set to be installed and unveiled to the community after the Applebee’s Speedway’s renovations are complete, by early summer.

To give Applebee’s a fresh new look and feel all around, local contractor GCStrategies gave the interior new paint, ceilings, dining room flooring and light fixtures over tables. Additionally, the restaurant introduced new chairs, barstools and tabletops, as well as reupholstered booths. On the exterior, Applebee’s received a fresh facelift and debuted a more modernized appearance with new paint around the entire building.

Guests can take advantage of $1 draft beers for the first seven days that Applebee’s is reopen, May 2-9. Draft beers include all domestic and craft selections, such as Boulevard Wheat, Boulevard Tank 7 and Stella Artois. Additionally, Applebee’s will offer $1 margaritas during the month of May and all-you-can-eat boneless buffalo wings for $11.99 all day, every day, for a limited time.
